This week I used a Random Plot Generator to inspire this flash fiction:

“The story starts when your protagonist is forced into a car at gunpoint.

Another character is an artist who is deeply involved in the occult”

Flash Fiction:

“Get in the car!” yelled a woman.

Looking all around, confused, Sam realized that this vixen with a gun was talking to him.  Sweat began to bead on his brow as he stared at the barrel of the firearm only inches from his chest.   Continue reading →

Here’s an idea I’ve been thinking about.  Still working on it.  But enjoy:

“Daddies?” asked Ella in her small voice from the backseat.

“Yes, baby?” the two asked in unison.  They gave each other a warm smile before Chad had to return his attention to the road.  How lucky they were, to have not only each other, but such a wonderful daughter.  She had kept herself relatively content so far during the drive, busing herself with her virtual finger painting.

“Daddies, where do babies come from?”

They grimaced when they heard the question that had sprung out of the blue.  It was something every parent dreaded.   Continue reading →

In this weeks flash fiction friday, I had to use a last line of a story as the first line of a new one.  Below is that story.  Enjoy.

* * * * *

“That plan didn’t fly, superhero, and now we’re short a bazooka.”

“Well, what do you expect?  I was only born four hours ago!” argued Hero.  Genetically designed and brought to life only this morning, he hadn’t been given a proper name.  Looking at him, one would expect that he had received only the best education, nutrition, and environment for the last twenty-five years.  He stood six feet tall, with dark brown hair and the build of an action star.

“I know that,” his commanding officer said, unsympathetically.  “But this is what you were made for.  We need to stop these monsters, and we need to do it now.  So if you don’t want to go back into that goop we pulled you out of, then use that freakish brain we gave you and figure out how to save the day.”   Continue reading →

Bus, job, Los Angeles, Pasadena, restaurant, work

Headed to my first real day of work. This far, it’s been all training. The restaurant opens tonight. So much that I will have to learn by doing. Scary and exciting.

My new position requires me to wear a little black dress. I’m meant to do my hair and make-up as if I’m going out. Classy tho, not over the top. I’m an odd site on the bus.

A strange thing just happened. The bus stopped for a minute and the bus drivers switched. The one that had been driving the bus got off, and a new driver had met up with him to take over. I haven’t seen that before.

This will be a short post. Too much other stuff to focus on. Have to learn table numbers and try not to panic.

A New Adventure – Bus Blogging

I started taking a different bus today. Why? Because I got a different job. Didn’t take me nearly as long as I expected. The downside is that its to the East, so I probably won’t be moving to the Westside any time soon.

I was almost slightly hesitant, or at least felt a little bad, about leaving my last job. Especially without giving notice. But then I got paid today. Once again my paycheck was a couple hundred short of what I expected it to be. So that made leaving easier.   Continue reading →

Flash Fiction – TV Trope – Darkhorse Victory

Today’s Flash Fiction is TV Tropes.  Random TV Trope, Darkhorse Victory.  1000 words.  Enjoy 🙂

Three full moons rose to their apex in the night sky.  It was high-midnight, and they reflected brightly.  The dusty city appeared all in greys, with only the most muted dark colors peeking through the gloom.  Masses of onlookers gathered at the windows of the tall buildings that towered over the clouded ground.  This was as close as they dare get.

In the haze of swept up earth, two warriors stood to face each other.  They opted for the protection of black ten-gallon hats.  They were more concerned about shielding their eyes from the ruminating moons than their heads from bullets.  After all, only one of them would come out of this alive, anyway.   Continue reading →

The continuation of the Superhero’s story

First, let me start by saying that I love Superhero’s.  I am a nerd.  I can debate with the best.  I understand the arguments about why the Flash and the Hulk are considered to be the most powerful heroes.  My guilty pleasure is Superman.  But the point of this isn’t to get into the specific heroes and which are the best or why.

I want to talk about what I’d like to see in superhero movies.  I know that Origin stories are necessary.  What would we think if we just jumped into the middle of a story and saw Iron Man being a jerk to a kid?  We may think that he’s a bad guy if we hadn’t already learned to love him.  Or if we saw so many in their flamboyant costumes, running around putting themselves in danger, whether they had superpowers or fancy toys.  We have to know their motivations.   Continue reading →
