Past

I’ve always enjoyed writing for fun, even writing full length novels, never expecting to share them with anyone. I didn’t imagine writing as a career until late 2012.

One of my greatest influences in writing is my fella, who left his PhD program to give his all to writing. It was his passion and determination that inspired me to give my own writing real dedication.

We set out on a journey together, and have pushed and encouraged each other along the way. Without his unwavering confidence, I might still be writing stories for my eyes only.

Once I decided that I was going to go for it, I did all in my power to learn more about the craft and art of writing and the business of publishing.

I started with the first draft of my novel Otherworlders. And during the two years it took to revise and edit it into something worth reading, I began a blog, fell in love with flash fiction, and found an amazing group of author friends.

I tested the waters of self-publishing with 22 Short Scifi Stories: a flash fiction collection.  It is also available on Audible.

My debut novel Otherworlders was released about four months later.  It launched on Hot New Release lists in pre-order and continued on, earning great reviews.

I also published one of my Writer’s of the Future Honorable Mention short stories Human Network.  This also launched as a Hot New Release, as well as hitting top 100 in some of it’s categories.

I am also lucky enough to have a short story being included in an upcoming anthology The A.I. Chronicles.  I’m honored to be among The Future Chronicles alumni, which includes great writers like Hugh Howey and Matthew Mather.

I primarily write scifi, and I have a number of projects planned.  Expect to see a lot from me in 2015.

I just read “22 Short Scifi Stories: a flash fiction collection” and honestly it is the best flash science fiction I’ve ever read and I have read many short SF stories. Short stories have got to be the hardest to write well and you absolutely hit all the marks. You really are very talented. I’ll be reading more of your work!

Hi Angela, I am a huge fan of your Otherworlder novel and was wondering if (or will) you have started a sequel to it, and if so, when can we expect it on Amazon? I still think about the world you created on a regular basis!

    Thanks!!

    Donna

    • Hi Donna,

I’m so glad to hear that you still think about Otherworlders 🙂 And I apologize for the delays. I have started a sequel, but this past year has been chaotic. I think that things are finally settling down and getting back to normal, and I hope to resume work on it soon. I don’t have a release date just yet, but I’ll do my best to keep you updated as I go.

      Thanks for checking in!
